Guest Lecture on Atlas Copco systems engineering practices by Magnus Fast

On May 12 the students of the course on Systems Engineering have had the possibility to attend to the guest lecture hold by Magnus Fast, product responsible for asphalt rollers at Atlas Copco Karlskrona.

Magnus gave a really interesting speech about design and development practices, needs and trade off analyses faced during the everyday work as a designer of complex products. Using as a reference real examples from his long industrial experience, Magnus raised a lot of interest among the students, that contributed to the lecture with a number of questions protracting even beyond the scheduled time.

The guest lecture was organized in the frame of the MT2530 System Engineering course involving more than 20 students from the master programs in Sustainable Product Service System Innovation, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Economics.

This year version of the course has seen the students working “in real life” on the analysis and improvement of a sub-system for a set of asphalt rollers using system engineering methods and tools.

We thank Magnus for the valuable insights and invite everyone interested to take part to the final presentation of the students’ projects planned for the end of May.
