Challenge: What are the opportunities for an electric conversion of diesel-powered wheel loaders, and how could this be applied from a business perspective?

Solution: A pre-study on how to convert already existing wheel loaders into plug-in hybrids.

Impact: Enables 2 hours of pure electric drive which will lower the running costs, expand the lifespan and lower the emissions. This will allow the wheel loaders to stay on the Swedish market longer and reduce the need for purchasing new vehicles.

Prototypes: The prototype is a 1:1 scale replica of a handball goal that includes accelerometers attached to the net. The accelerometers are used to measure the impact of the ball when it strikes the net. The data collected by the accelerometers is then used in machine learning algorithms to predict the speed of the ball.
