Software innovation for total compaction control

Programme: Mechanical Engineering  / Industrial Economy, class of 2014

Course: MT2556, Avancerad produkt- och tjänstesystemsinnovation

Corporate partner: Dynapac

Challenge: Create a tool that takes the user all the way from the first machine selection, through the production stage and delivers documentation to the client in an up to date form. Combine and connect the different support systems onto one, unique and user friendly tool

Solution: A software that provides a better option for the users of the current compaction software, Dynalizer. The solution integrates Dynpac and its customers interaction all the way from the machine selection through out the whole project and everything in between.

Impact: The solution creates a better integrated system connection stakeholders together. The impact varies and touches multiple areas of the current situation. The physical and informational flow will in general be smoother and simpler. The right information is provided which generates the ability to improve, plan and accomplish compaction projects. The customers will be in charge and feel in control during the whole compaction process.

Prototypes: Prototypes were made in ADOBE XD CC. ADOBE software made it able for us to create a visible prototype with real function, mechanics and interface. It was important to do a prototype, both for the project group and other stakeholders to see. Difficulties with making a software as a prototype was to learn a new program, but eventually it made the result even better.
