{"id":166,"date":"2015-01-27T20:58:20","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T19:58:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/?p=166"},"modified":"2019-06-08T00:15:36","modified_gmt":"2019-06-07T22:15:36","slug":"pss-extreme-innovation-completed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/pss-extreme-innovation-completed\/","title":{"rendered":"Extreme Product-Service Innovation 2014\/15 completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On January 14 2015, students in the MT2534 PSS Extreme Innovation (PSSEI) course presented the outcome of this year\u2019s innovation projects.<\/p>\n<div>Students from the Master\u2019s programs in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Economy and Management as well as the Master\u2019s program in Sustainable Product-Service System Innovation (MSPI) have teamed up to work on real projects provided by the three industrial partners \u2013 GKN Aerospace Sweden, Quantified Helf (qHelf) and Volvo Construction Equipment \u2013 to focus on real world problems with Design Thinking, Innovation and Sustainability.<\/div>\n<div>The students started out by identifying opportunities within a given field, and then proceeded through the product development process with:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Needfinding and benchmarking<\/li>\n<li>Creative ideation (brainstorming) and Conceptual design<\/li>\n<li>Prototyping design concept<\/li>\n<li>Detail design to create minimum viable &nbsp;solution prototypes<\/li>\n<li>Business model elaboration using the business model canvas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The final presentation attracted high interest with audience in excess of 60 people filling the room.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>Here below a short summary of challenges and outcomes of the three projects.<\/div>\n<h2><b>GKN Aerospace Sweden<\/b><\/h2>\n<h4>Team<\/h4>\n<p>Carl-Philip Engblom, Jonas Hantoft, Daniel Holmberg, My Klasson, Marcus Lind, Emelie Lindahl, Gustav Palmqvist, Emelie Puranen, Shkrep Stavileci, Erik Wedelin.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pssei1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-168\" src=\"http:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pssei1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"pssei1\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pssei1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pssei1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.productdevelopment.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pssei1.jpg 1152w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Problem description<\/h4>\n<div>The GKN team were tasked with exploring future ways for GKN to increase their visibility in the marketplace and also how they can showcase their developments in the area of sustainability as well as their other core values.<\/div>\n<h4>Result<\/h4>\n<div>The student team developed a new marketing strategy for GKN, which is titled \u201cGKN \u2013 With Responsibility Inside\u201d. By providing airplane passengers with added insight about the technologies that are in the plane and aero engine.
