Mariana joins us from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where she is pursuing her PhD under the supervision of Marco Bertoni and Emel Arikan (WU Vienna). With a strong background in supply chain managementand international business, her doctoral work explores sustainable servitization—how firms and industrial networks transition toward more sustainable, service-oriented business models.
Her current research delves into how proximity dynamics influence collaboration and innovation across industrial ecosystems. During her stay, Mariana will work closely with our team to advance her research on sustainability-driven service innovation and the mechanisms that enable value co-creation within complex networks.
“During my exchange period at BTH, I’m thrilled to collaborate with the team and learn more about the work being done at the Product Development Research Lab. I look forward to exploring new methods for PSS research and finding ways to integrate these into my own projects. And of course, I’m eager to experience Karlskrona and Sweden—and hopefully improve my Swedish along the way!”
We’re delighted to have Mariana with us and look forward to the fresh insights and energy she brings to our research community.
“We’re delighted to welcome Mariana to the Product Development Research Lab,” says Prof. Marco Bertoni. “Her research brings valuable new perspectives on sustainable servitization and aligns perfectly with our ongoing efforts to advance sustainability-driven innovation in product-service systems.”
