QuakeOps

A solution to help Machines evaquate earthquake

Programme: Course project (add course code below in comment)

Challenge: Identify a porblem within the logistics during disasters and devolop a solution that help the machine operator evaquate and help the EMS during earthquake even if the Internet connection is down.

Solution: Giving the operator instructions to follow to evaquate and then help the EMS, by sending out drones that scans the roads and the AI finds blocks and safe paths. Small data updates are sent over a tough link (LoRa → MQTT → microwave) so it works even with weak internet. Operators see an easy, color coded map and can use voice help. The machines send progress back, so routes update in real time making the work safer and quicker.

Impact: QuakeOps helps reopen roads faster and safer after a disaster. Drone scans become a live, color coded map that everyone shares, so crews make fewer mistakes and move with confidence. It still works when the internet is weak, keeping coordination going. This saves time and fuel, cuts costs, and reduces risk for people on the ground.

Prototypes: Yes. We built some quick prototypes: a LEGO flow model, a clickable in cab website that shows what the operators gonna see. They proved the concept and showed that simple visuals + short text work best, and that an action list beside the map improves clarity.
