Challenge: Develop two robots that together can collect small balls of varying sizes from a container, sort them and drop them in another container while driving on a small course made up of tape of different colors.
Solution: One robot had the task of collecting the balls from a basket, sorting out the ball which where not supposed to get sorted and then delivering the rest of the balls to to the other robot. The other robot had the task of sorting out the remaining balls into three different containers.
Impact: The robots successfully performed their tasks.
Prototypes: The prototypes were made out of various materials such as Lego, cardboard, PLA, and MFD. The prototypes were mainly used as proof of concepts for various ideas but also to demonstrate capability of the systems to work together. By testing various ideas we learned which solutions were the best fit for our robots.
