Course: MT2569 – Design Thinking

Corporate partner: Volvo Construction Equipment

Challenge: To increase the safety at a construction site.

Solution: A reflective vest with vibration motors, lights, a GPS and a button. Used on construction sites to notify workers if an accident has happened. The GPS would be connected to a clock that the project managers has so that they quickly know if an accident has happened and also where.

Impact: The vest will increase safety on construction sites.

Prototypes: We made 5 iterations of a reflective vest where we put on litlle bits which vibrates on the shoulder and also light on the front and the back to notify others. The last iteration we took the little bits idea and made it with an arduino.
The clock is made from cardboard and a little bits light to simulate a hurt worker.
